Smelly Soap ?
Is it just me or does any one else thinks that those telemovies / soap operas that they are showing on our local networks SUCKS? Especially the ones that TV3 had been broadcasting. I can tell you one thing, whenever I turn on the TV and I see one of these soaps, I would regurgitate immediately! (not literally though)
I really don't understand why people would want to broadcast these crappy drama serials for others to watch. Most of the scenes are so boring and pointless.
One fine example is a portion of the drama that I saw at my aunt's house just now. I think it's called Keranamu Laila.
Anywho, this gal in the tv came home and went into the kitchen to talk to her mother and the conversation goes like this;

Girl : I think I hit someone while I was reversing my car. (the girl acts nervous)
Mom : Ha, serves you right. Your dad told you not to drive the car today right ?
Now see what happened ? Your dad told you not to drive the car today.
God has punished you for that ! (Huh ??? what kind of answer is that ??? LOL !!)
Girl : I got out of the car and went back to have a look, I think I accidentally hit that old lady, Mrs X.
Mom : Who ?? Mrs X ?? How is she ??
Girl : Yeah, she's fine. Arghh, I'm so nervous and scared !! (i h8 her reaction here..dah terlalu over dah oi..)
Mom : Did you say sorry to her ?
Girl : Yes ... I'm so nervous now ... what can i do ?
Mom : You should bring me to see her later
Girl : Im so scared !!

And I switched channels ......
They were revolving around the 'I-accidentally-hit-Mrs-X-and-I'm-so-nervous' scene for at least 2 minutes ! Sheesh ! What are they thinking of by showing these kind of crap on national television ?
You'd think that with all the big institutions around us that we would be able to produce more high quality dramas, but no ... all we have is:
'sorry sayang, I tak nak you berkawan dengan dia'
or
'I dah inform you berapa kali ? You memang cannot diharap !'.
Apart from the lousy plot and filming skills, (and the crappy acting too) the thing that I don't understand most is why use english in between their malay lines especially in corporate settings such as in an office.
Does it make you more professional ? Cakap melayu tak professional ker ? And since we are 1Malaysia, why don't use hindi + malay + chinese ?

I really wish that they will one day be able to produce great dramas or maybe sitcoms such as Seinfeld , Friends , or maybe comedic cartoons like Futurama and The simpsons.
Well , enough bashing the film industry. Hope that they will improve 1000% more to get to higher grounds and make us proud by producing better dramas for the aunties and uncles at home to watch.
Oh ya , its the 30th now . Happy Birthday to me !!! hahaha !
